According to The Daily Evergreen, A 21-year-old Washington State University student was charged with second-degree identity theft in Whitman County Superior Court on June 8, 2009.

According to a police report, WSU Police Officer Dawn Daniels responded to Health and Wellness Services on May 12 to look into a possible identity theft that occurred the previous week. According to the report, the accused student and the alleged victim had a falling out before the incident took place.

The rest of the article goes on to describe how the accused and the victim knew each other personally and how the accused stole the victim’s ID but told authorities she had permission to use the ID.  A text message clearly proved the accused did not have permission to use the ID.
